
Chris Bornes - Owner/Artistic Director
Chris established CDS and has been teaching dance since 1977. Each year original dance concerts are
produced at year's end, written and directed by Chris. She has choreographed the Miss Montana Pageant
since 1983. She was assistant to the producer/choreographer for the Miss Oklahoma Pageant in 1998 and
has judged for the Miss America organization state pageants in North Carolina, Virginia, North Dakota,
Michigan, Wyoming, Idaho and Utah. Chris directed the opening ceremonies for Special Olympics Montana
2000. She's performed in dinner theaters and for President Reagan. Her favorite musicals choreographed
are Anything Goes, Pippin, Saturday's Warrior, and Assassins. Future plans for CDS include an
invitation to perform at the nation's Jazz Congress, continued structured curriculum, a qualified
professional faculty, and ongoing educational opportunities for all in the performing arts.
Betsy Harris - Private/ Advanced Jazz/ Modern
Betsy has been dancing for twenty-five years. She was a professional dancer for fifteen years. Her
television credits include the 44th Emmy Awards, the Arsenio Hall Show, the Tonight Show, Solid Gold,
Comic Relief, Soul Train, and the American Country Music Awards. She danced in many videos with such
artists as Prince, Reba McIntyre, Travis Tritt, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smash Mouth, and Sugar Ray.
She has done industrial work for such companies as Nike, Avia, Ford, Herbalife, Bum Equipment and LA Gear. She toured with the Sherman Hemsley Show (George Jefferson) and was on the Reba Concert Tour for
two years. Her commercial credits include Pepsi, Levi's, Doritos, Nike, Miller, Coors, and Bud Light.
She is very excited to explore another part of her dance experience by passing it on to others.
Samantha Sandefur - Elementary Hip Hop/Jazz/Tap
Sam began dancing in her early years of High School in Los Angeles, CA where she was on the High School
Dance Team. She has been teaching at CDS since 1995 and specializes in children's work in areas of Jazz,
Tap and Hip Hop. Her credits include "Cha Cha" in Billings 2001 Local Production of Grease and many years as a Miss Montana Dancer. She has choregraphed for such shows as Wired 2001, Shakespears' Midsummer Nights Dream and a Coach/Choregrapher for the Billings Most Wanted Outlaws Cheerleaders 2006-2008. She enjoys giving children the gift of dance and watching them grow and discover their talents.
Tove Oblander - Tech Support/Hip Hop
Tove has been with CDS since she was three. She is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Programming. Tove edits all of our music and video. She also maintains the website www.cdstheedge.com. Tove trained in Chicago, IL and Anaheim, CA at the new Tiger Woods Learning Center. For two seasons Tove worked as an instructor at, iD Tech Camps Colorado College, Denver University and Stanford University. At iD, Tove educated kids aging from 7-17 about Web Design, Flash Animation and Video Game Creation. Tove also continued her dance training last fall and attended The Pulse Dance Convention in Las Vegas. She hopes she can keep pursuing her dance and technique at other conventions this upcoming year.
Brandy Schwartz - Children's Work / Jazz
Brandy is an accomplished dancer and looks forward to stretching her talents as a dancer and a teacher. She has been dancing at CDS for ten years. She loves to teach and assist in the children's classes. Interaction with young children inspires her and is very important to her. She has modeled in the Wedding Preview and performed in a number of showcases. Brandy recently graduated from the College of Technology with an assosciate degree in Medical Administration and is working at the Rehder Hearing Clinic.
Also joining our team this year will be Helen Rhodes and Lexi Strong.
